The Stolen Throne
Wear the Eventide Mask, Courtly Tunic, and Courtly Breeches to enter the masquerade. The false Sovran leaves through a hidden wall in the rear hallway; follow that passage rather than questioning every guest.
Attend the masquerade
- Meet Brant at the Stardrop Inn at night after reaching Vernworth during Seat of the Sovran. Accept the masquerade assignment and take the Eventide Mask.
- Get Courtly Tunic and Courtly Breeches. Both have documented free chest locations upstairs in the Comptroller's Home in the Noble Quarter; check the rooms before buying expensive formal clothes.
- Equip both clothing pieces and the mask, then visit Vernworth Hall in the castle grounds at night. If no masquerade is taking place, advance to another night and return.
- After the entrance scene, follow the rear hallway. Walk against the concealed doorway in the wall to open the secret passage.
- Follow the passage toward the Rose Chateau and watch the Wilhelmina scenes. They reveal evidence about the pretender and provide the Myrmecoleon Card.
- Return to Brant at the Stardrop Inn at night and report your findings.
Result and common mistakes
The Myrmecoleon Card grants access to the Rose Chateau Bordelrie. PowerPyx records a Wakestone and 6,500 G as historical quest rewards, but June 2026 changes mean the old payout is not a current guarantee.
Brant gives the assignment at the inn, not inside Vernworth Hall. No killing of Martin or another masquerade guest is required. The hidden passage, correct clothing, and a night when the event is running are the progression checks.
