Co-op and the DD2gether mod

Dragon's Dogma 2 is officially single-player, with asynchronous pawn sharing rather than live co-op. DD2gether is a fan-made alpha for up to four players on Steam. Its current guide uses a separate launcher, character profiles and host campaigns.

What is official

Steam's category list for app 2054970 says Single-player. The pawn system lets you hire other players' main pawns asynchronously. CAPCOM's Title Update 4.0 log and expansion product description do not advertise an official four-player combat mode.

What DD2gether is

The GitHub README calls DD2gether an alpha and warns that mod combinations and late-game content remain incompletely tested. Its linked installation document now describes quest synchronization, separate character profiles and host campaigns. The document says the current version stores co-op saves separately; an older README warning about overwriting the pawn should not be treated as a complete description of the current launcher.

The author guide supports Steam copies and Windows-oriented instructions. Back up the full single-player save folder even when using separate co-op saves. Do not bypass antivirus warnings automatically or assume a successful connection certifies every quest.

Questions

Does Dark Arisen add multiplayer?

The official expansion description does not advertise live multiplayer; the game is listed as single-player. DD2gether remains a third-party alpha.

Will it break my save?

The current installation guide says co-op saves are separate, but still requires a backup and warns about alpha instability. Preserve an untouched single-player save before importing a profile.
