Prey for the Pack
Go to Putrid Cave east of Checkpoint Rest Town, rescue Rodge from the wolves, and escort him back to Morris. This rescue is time-sensitive: do not rest to make the flowers easier to see.
Trigger, rescue, and escort
- Approach Morris's Apothecary in Checkpoint Rest Town and accept Morris's plea. This starts in Checkpoint Rest Town, not Vernworth.
- Ask the nearby townspeople about Rodge. Their clues point east, toward blue Moonglow flowers and the wolves.
- Follow the eastern road and the flower trail toward Putrid Cave beyond the lake. At night the flowers glow, but waiting for night wastes rescue time; going directly to the cave also works.
- Enter and kill the wolves attacking Rodge. Finding the cave is not enough: speak to him and make sure he follows.
- Walk back toward Checkpoint Rest Town with Rodge close by. Stop if he falls behind, deal with enemies, and deliver him to Morris to complete the rescue.
Outcome and time limit
The successful rescue reunites Rodge with Morris. Older guides list 4,000 XP, 11,000 G, and two Miracle Roborants. Capcom increased some quest rewards on June 10, 2026, so these are historical figures, not guaranteed current payouts.
Delay can leave Rodge dead. Do not invent a precise countdown from a guide that only establishes urgency, and do not treat an escort failure as the successful branch. Follow the active quest marker and keep him alive all the way home.
