Fighter: unlock, skills and shield build
Fighter is a starting vocation for the Arisen and main pawn. It pairs a sword or mace with a shield, using blocks, counters and knockdowns to protect vulnerable allies.

How to learn Riotous Fury
Find Lennart in Melve and raise his affinity by helping the village, completing his related quests or giving suitable gifts. Speak to him after the dragon encounter in Readvent of Calamity. He awards Soldier's Code when his affinity is high enough; use the scroll to learn Riotous Fury.
If the reward dialogue does not appear, finish his remaining village business and improve affinity. Lennart can relocate to Harve Village later in the questline. This is a base-game maister skill, not an expansion-endgame reward.

Use each base skill until its upgrade is available. This loadout is an editorial recommendation, not a measured damage ranking.
Equipment, augments and combat loop
Learn True Deflect and time blocks just before impact. Close distance, stagger with the shield, then commit longer attacks against a downed target. Reserve stamina for defending or withdrawing rather than spending it all on a combo.
For a tank pawn, replace a damage slot with Shield Summons or Shield Drum and consider Provocation. Mettle supports physical defense; Thew helps carry supplies. Bring a Mage for recovery and a ranged attacker for targets your melee attacks cannot easily reach.
Mirour Vesture and its upgrade Mirour Shelde belong to Mystic Spearhand, not Fighter. The September 2, 2026 update improved Fighter targeting and Riotous Fury control; it did not give Fighter a party barrier. Choose equipment for defense and knockdown resistance without assuming an unverified best-in-slot set.
