Title Update 4.0
Title Update 4.0 shipped on 9 October 2026 alongside Dark Arisen. The base-game patch adds Hard Mode and restart-with-data support; the paid expansion adds Norgan and Lost Rites. Six assigned skills and three save slots were already added on 2 September.
What Capcom's log attaches to this update
- Support for the Dark Arisen expansion.
- Hard Mode, applicable to an existing or new save according to CAPCOM's launch announcement.
- Restarting a game while carrying data over.
- The pawn specialization Orienteer.
- Forgotten riftstone crystals raised from 30 to 90.
- A warmth property on some armor.
- PS5 Pro: official support for Enhanced PSSR.
- Steam: FSR 3 frame generation, DLSS Super Resolution 4.5 and DLSS multi-frame generation; DLSS frame generation no longer requires DLSS Super Resolution to be enabled.
- Steam: DualSense adaptive triggers, vibration and motion-sensor functionality.
What the log does not quantify
The official note does not give universal Hard Mode multipliers or a hardware-independent FPS promise. Its graphics version wording is DLSS SUPER RESOLUTION 4.5; a search term mentioning DLSS 5 is not evidence of a game feature.
The 16 October follow-up fixes Warrior cancellation, Magick Archer lock-on, Mystic Spearhand behavior with Sigurd, Hal's tailoring, mortuary placement and several save/UI issues. The rain-like effect it mentions is on the saved-data selection screen, not a general rain-rendering overhaul.
Questions
Do I need Dark Arisen to get Hard Mode?
Hard Mode is in Title Update 4.0. Capcom shipped that update alongside the expansion. Install the game update even if you are still deciding on the DLC.
Is DLSS 5 in the game?
The 9 October official log specifies DLSS Super Resolution 4.5 and multi-frame-generation support. It does not list a DLSS 5 upgrade.
