Dark Arisen armor and new gear
Dark Arisen's gear comes from two different routes: randomized relic appraisal in Norgan and named Lost Rites dungeon rewards. Compare the actual appraised parameters, not just the equipment name. This is the 2026 DD2 expansion, not the first game's Dark Arisen.

Two sources of new gear
CAPCOM's Q&A confirms that relic appraisal produces weapons, armor and skills with random parameters. Fextralife's trial guide separately lists named Lost Rites rewards. A dungeon chest reward and an appraised Norgan piece therefore should not be treated as the same acquisition method.
For Norgan armor, collect spoils, complete Relics of the Past to open appraisal according to Game8's expansion guide, and bring the spoils to Jiera in the Norgandian Settlement. Compare the revealed stats with your equipped item before changing gear.
For appearance changes, Game8 directs players to complete Reaching the Far Shore, talk to Hal and select Tailor Equipment. The target must be appraised Norgan equipment; previously acquired base-game gear can supply the appearance. The original parameters remain. The 9 October official update also adds thermal properties to some armor, without identifying every affected piece.
Ring of Virtue
Fextralife's Ring of Virtue entry lists Dwayne as its vendor, at a cost of one Norgan Ducat. Its description connects its potential to defeating the source of Norgan's ruin while wearing it. Buy and equip it before the relevant story encounter if following that route; it is not listed as a guaranteed random relic drop.

Can I transmog base-game armor?
Game8 says the item being restyled must be identified Norgan gear. A base-game piece can be the look you copy, not the piece you rewrite.
