For efficient DCP, defeat groups you can clear quickly instead of assuming the largest monster is the best reward. DCP, also called DP, raises the equipped vocation's rank and pays for vocation unlocks, skills, and augments.
Choose a route for your current strength

A repeatable farming loop
- Equip the vocation you intend to rank before leaving a guild. Earning DCP raises that equipped vocation; merely spending stored DCP is not the same as earning rank progress.
- Take a functioning damage setup and healing support. Carrying too much or fighting with an unfamiliar kit can erase the benefit of a denser route.
- At Drabnir's Grotto, clear the small-enemy groups you can handle and the western bandit area. Skip the Cyclops if its kill time or risk is excessive.
- Return to a settlement to store loot and learn newly available skills. Revisit once enemies have respawned rather than repeatedly walking an empty route.
- Game8 suggests roughly two days for this route's repopulation. Treat that as community guidance, not a universal respawn timer for every monster.
Why smaller enemies can beat bosses
A harder opponent can pay more DCP per kill, but farming efficiency is reward divided by total time, including travel and recovery. Game8 explicitly favors clearing camps of easy enemies over a slower boss for this purpose. The best route is one the current party clears consistently.
Certain side quests also award DCP, and their required battles add progress. For a first run, combine quests with nearby camps before committing to repetitive grinding. Do not treat character XP and vocation rank as the same counter.
What to buy with DCP
Learn the weapon skills and core skills needed for the vocation you are currently using, then buy useful augments for your longer-term setup. Once learned, augments can be equipped across vocations. Rank prerequisites still apply.
Capcom increased assignable weapon skills from four to six on September 2, 2026. More slots allow a broader loadout, but they do not make every skill purchase necessary. Hard Mode is a separate difficulty commitment, not a risk-free farming toggle.
